Will my family get Turkish Citizenship?

Answer: You, your spouse (wife or husband) and dependents (your children under the age of 18, on the application date) can get citizenship. Turkish law does not recognize same-sex marriages, polygamy and other types of partnerships. So a spouse should be a person of the opposite sex and the couple should be legally married. If a male applicant has multiple wives, only one of them is eligible for Turkish citizenship.


How long does it take to be a Turkish citizen?

A: After the property is bought and the application is filed, it takes between 3 to 6 months to get the citizenship and Turkish passport. Government is eager to reduce time.

A: Yes, any property you buy would be counted. You can rent the properties to someone else. The only restriction is you cannot sell it for three years.


Are there any limitations for a foreign investor?

A: In the business sector, no, there are no limitations. But in the real estate sector, there are some limitations for a foreign investor. Like, foreigners can't have above 30 hectares. Answer: Sorry, but no. If your spouse has passed away after your citizenship application, you can get your citizenship. If you didn't make any application before, you can't get citizenship in Turkey.
